Let's raise a toast to nourishing our bodies with nutritious foods that make our bellies and minds happy! These loaded toasts will leave you satisfied and energized ... friendly reminder that we need carbs. Say it with me: food is fuel.
Toast #1 - Berry Banana Toast
Here's what ya need to do!
Grab your fav kind of toast. Add on some nut butter or granola butter (if you prefer it like me). Add on your choice of mixed berries, banana slices, hemp seeds for a healthy fat + protein source, honey, and cinnamon!

Toast #2 - Sweet & Spicy Avocado Toast
She's an icon, she's a legend, she is the moment.
Now on to the dEATS: Grab your fav kind of toast. If you're feeling fancy like me, let's make an avocado rose!
Here's how to do it:
first, cut the avocado in half and remove the pit from the middle.
place both halves face down and remove the skin.
turn the avocado so the longer side is facing you. now, cut horizontally into thin slices.
using your fingers, start on one end, fanning out the slices. start to curve the edges to ward the middle to create a rose.
to transfer on to the toast, use a spatula to keep the rose in tact!
* watching a video may help to visualize!*
After placing my avocado roses on each piece of toast, my fav way to spice it up is with a little bit of olive oil, balsamic glaze, salt and pepper, crushed red pepper, and hot honey (this is KEY).
Feel free to add an egg on top as a protein source!
Toast #3 - Caprese Style Avocado Toast
This is one of favorite variations of avocado toast, not only for breakfast, but its the perfect flavor combo for a simple yet delicious lunch!
Let's take our toast, add some avocado slices to it. Layer on some cherry tomato slices and mozzarella cheese. I love to add a little kick to it with some crushed red pepper flakes, and this would be even better with a balsamic glaze on top.
Seriously can never get enough of avocado toast.
Carbs are not the enemy!
Diet culture often instills the idea that carbs are inherently bad and I am here to assure you that this is not the case. In reality, carbohydrates are one of our main sources of fuel + energy! Believe it or not, our brains need an abundant supply of carbs (eventually in the form of glucose) to function each day. And when we deprive ourselves of the necessary fuel, the body will try to break down proteins and fast to use as fuel instead which we don't want to happen.
Let's get rid of this misconception together and unlearn this mindset. Our bodies thrive when nourished with the proper nutrients, so make sure you're fueling your body each day and giving it what it wants + needs! Eat the foods you love, and learn to live a life full of balance that includes carbs!!!!
